Acura STYLE magazine
Got the latest issue (winter) of Acura STYLE magazine. Used to get these regularly but this is the first one in some time. They featured the new MDX/RDX/TL Type S and even threw in a photo of the TSX and a racing Honda, but couldn't find anything about the RL except in the Letters to the Editor section (two RL-related questions). Should we take this personally??

Interesting, will be looking for this in the mail. It's been so long since I got one of those that I don't remember when it was.
Touge needs to get his car in there for the featured "owner of the issue" story. Or hey, I can step in...

Acura is missing out on a brand-building opportunity by not publishing their magazine regularly. I haven't seen one in years.

Got it yesterday. Noticed the lack of enthusiasm for the RL as well. Acura did feature the TL-S and the pimpish Concept Sedan but really seems to be keeping the RL under wraps...I noticed their major puffery was reserved for the SUVs!

I think Acura treats the RL like a stepchild because the car was forced upon them by the folks in Japan.

A couple years ago I was invited to participate in a market research event concerning Acura Style magazine. I'll tell you one thing, most of the people there were not the auto enthusiast types. Mostly soccer moms who had MDXs, and I think I was the only one who stated I wanted to see more car related stuff, and less fluff.
Let's face it, they're catering to the majority.

The magazine goes to people who have already bought an Acura so why are they trying to sell to the converted? The mag should bias toward facts about the cars and make it attractive for owners to upgrade to a newer model because of the improvements pointed out in the text. An advertisement for an Acura model should be different than one for existing owners. With 2 and 3 year old RL's around now they should be trying to get me to upgrade to a new one.

There are four cars Acura considers, I think, to be this way:
~ Acura SLX
~ Acura RL
~ Acura CL
~ Acura Vigor (to a lesser extent)

LOL maybe Acura needs to hire us to come up with ways to market the RL.

Or maybe Acura should start caring about the RL.

I got mine yesterday. Its a yawner as has been said. I do like one or two articles, but they need to be longer. Not enough substance which is quite sad. Why bother putting together a magazine that could be so much better with an extra 6 or 10 pages? Hell, if Acura paid me say 75,000 a year I'd write the articles and my girlfriend could do all the layout
And yes, i too didnt get one for about 6 months or so. Was there a Fall edition?

Thanks for the link, Tampa. I just re-subscribed as I haven't seen Acura Style in about three years. ![Dunno](https://acurazine.com/forums/images/smilies/dunno.gif)
BTW, on the site, the publishing frequency is listed as twice annually. That's a decrease from the previous quarterly frequency. Again,
about that.
