This is my first post because I never new there was a forum for RLs. I was searching for a dash piece and found this forum and figured I would try it out. I installed a computer system in my Acura RL, same if you don't have navigation. I am selling it on ebay right now because I want to build something for Sema and I am looking for the dash piece that was made for the acuras with navigation. I don't want the navigation or the radio or the ac controls, although I would like to get the ac controls. I am going to make my ac controls touchscreen but that would take me a while to finish.

Anyway, I am looking for a dash piece from an Acura RL that had navigation. I don't care if its broke in half, missing parts or cracked or whatever, I just want something to start off working on with instead of making it from scratch. Check out my auctions on ebay, and if you have any questions about doing this, let me know. You can convert your navigation system in your car to the computer system tha has better navigation that is also voice controlled and just better software with no cds required.

Glad there is an RL forum, wish I would have known this, I have had so many questions about the steering wheel controls and other things for so long.

Why would this be suspicous, I am trying to buy something right now, a dash piece. Im not trying to sell anything. If you want to buy something on ebay, thats fine and you can check me out. Go to mp3car.com and you will find me under the name clean customs, which I have been on for awhile building my carPC. I didn't try to sell my system, I put a link to show it, but what I want is a dash piece that I want to buy. If that is suspicious, then remove it. I dont' know what doesn't make sense about that.

 

The reason why I put that message above even though there was no other post, is becasue Ron A sent this to me the message below through emailwithout putting it on the thread. I wasn't trying to sell something on there, I am trying to find a dash piece, and showed why. Sorry I thought it would be cool to show what I did to my RL. If I need to put my serial number of my car, let me know. Also let me know what i need to do so I dont' sound "suspicious" to you Ron.

if you wish to share the photos and images of your set up, just link to the photos, rather than the whole auction. Your entire post sounds more like a sales pitch than anything else.

 

I am trying to find a dash piece, the one with the radio and ac, and vents in the newer models. I want one that came off of an Acura RL with a navigation system, but I don't want the navigation system or radio. I would like the ac controls, but I will take what I can get. I will take it with the radio and the navigation and just sell those on ebay.

Although I want one that came off a car with navi, Ill take one without it. I cut mine up to install a carPC, and want to move my screen up to where the navigation is and not where the radio is, tired of looking down so much to change songs.
I am selling my carPC, but that is NOT what this thread is about. If you have questions on making a carPC for the Acura RL, or any car really, let me know. They do make in dash fold out screens that are VGA. I have my computer system and screen with the RL dash pieces on ebay right now, although I have them seperately because I didn't figure anyone with an RL would buy the system, odds against that, so I am selling a new 7" VGA if they don't have an RL.
Check them out, and if you have questions about it, let me know. Its the best thing in the world to have in my opinion, and its cheaper to make then to buy one in dash flipout screen that plays DVDs and CD's. they actually make power supplies and motherboards for cars now if you can believe that. Send me a PM ifyou know where to get that center console dash piece.
