Acura Canada SUCKS!!!
I complained about numerous problems with my 05 RL A Spec which only has 82,000KM and Acura Canada basically told me to go F*** myself. I've taken in all the service bulletins that relate to my issues and they will not cover the repairs for anything. I am done with Acura, never buying another Honda product again. I've owned 14 Honda vehicles and this RL is by far the worst car I've ever owned.

oh i feel your pain. But breath and you will remember in a few days why you love honda. I had the same problem i took them to court and won. Just find a dealer close by that can understand whats up. I take it your warranty is over? what's wrong with your car?

If Honda/Acura has a head quarters in Canada you might try and give them a call. Especially if still under warrenty. If all else fails you can always call Acura here in the states and ask them to recommend a solution or someone to call up in your neck of the woods.

14 Honda vehicles by age 29. That's 1 year each since 15. I wonder if it's the cars fault...just kidding.
If the car is out of warranty, I can see why they wouldn't fix it.
As others said, what issues do you have?

I have to notorious door handle problem,
The AFS light is on,
The brake pedal is really soft even though i changed the pads,
the front wood grain and silver finishing creaks, the rear shade rattles,
a few times while i was driving the gear wouldn't go past 3rd gear
ac blows warm then cold and warm again
i cant remember the rest. I will get the paper and let you all know.
I took it to a local dealer and after speaking with acura canada who said they don't want to cover anything, the dealership wanted to charge me $500 extra for just diagnostics on top of the original $150 I paid.

Do you have extended warranty on the RL?

You're over 20,000km from the warranty. This is not a matter of a few hundred.
As much as you are angry about the issues with your own car, this is not really Acura Canada's fault. You have to accept the fact you mistakenly thought the warranty was 5 years versus 3 years...

If not, did all these problems happen just after you passed warranty period?
Did you change pads yourself? If so, soft pedal probably is air in line from not bleeding correctly.
And, are you sure you did not have the car in D3, when you could not go past 3rd gear?

Did you just buy the car?

I did change the pads myself but it was just pads, no air could have gotten in.
I am sure it was in drive cause I switched it to manual mode and it would go down to 2 and 1, but not past 3rd.

And as I said, that's the reason why Acura told you that you're out of luck. It's not their problem you didn't know your own warranty period and thought it was actually longer than it was.

Noticed your from toronto.I have an 05 rl aspec as well and have felt the same way. After owning a 03 tl-s and going through 3 trannys on it I too said no more acura's.Then I seen the RL.Anyways try taking it to Maple acura, they are new and need some clientel.I had my 2 door handles replaced on mine free of charge and hood latch sensor replaced.I have 128,000km.Acura canada took care of my bill.AFS light came on mine too but no tranny issues.Cleared the light and never seen it again.Try changing your tranny fluid.I do mine twice a year along with the rear end and transfer case fluid.I drive too much.My AC too is acting up,it's the compressor but im only gonna change it next year.It has it's issues but what car doesnt?? By the way is your a-spec the black one thats on kijiji for sale right now?

OP, I feel your pain but I would give Acura another shot. The fact is, if you start banning every auto maker for the occasional faulty vehicle combined with the rate that you apparently go through cars, you will be out of choices in the next ten or twenty years. I had a nagging issue with the navigation on my wife's old MDX. I fought Acura for 2 1/2 years and eventually they took care of us better than I could have ever imagined. I was within warranty though.
The other thing you have to think about is that this is seemingly your first negative experience after 14 Honda products. I seriously doubt that you could have that experience with many other auto makers.
Hang in there and check your options before you do anything rash.
