50K miles - bye bye warranty!

Wife just hit 50k miles this morning in our 05 RL. With the speedo error from Honda, our RL will be out of warranty in the next day or two.

Just booked an appointment with our dealership - is there anything I'm missing on the list below for them to check?

Besides regular maintenance items, we're having them check the following:
AFS errors
Navi freezes
Light under center stack sometimes goes out - a nice whack turns them back on
Exhaust heat shield rattle

Had the wiper TSB done last month. Cant think of anything else.

My '04 MDX jsut turned 50,000 last week. With the settlement, the warranty actually runs for another 2,500 miles but just before it turned 50,000, I bought an extended warranty (an additiional 48,000 miles) from Tim at hondaacuraworld.com (an AZ sponsor with the best price and service around). I previously bought one for my RL from him.

The MDX has been bulletproof so far but I figure it would only take one small (O.K. not so small) item (nav system, transmission) to more than pay for the warranty. I may never use it but I'll sleep better for the next four years or so knowing I have it.

Do you feel that the extended warranty was a good idea? Wondering if it's worth checking to see if we can pick one up for the RL.

The odometer settlement has not been 'settled' as of today. Owners will need to pay out-of-pocket first and then wait for a reimbursement from Honda/Acura AFTER you fill out a form; the way it was explained to me a few minutes ago.

I spoke to "them" last week and the final settlement hearing is August 21 (it was originally in May but Honda had it delayed due to some customer notification issues). Once the hearing is done and the settlement approved (which is expected), it will be official and the paperwork and reimbursement will no longer be necessary.

I paid $1,000 for a 100K mile $0 deductible warranty. Given that just the door handles alone are over $400, and as someone else pointed out, it won't take much to ring up $1,000, I thought it was a no-brainer.

Well for me it would be a waiste of money to get the extended warranty. I mostly drive my car on the weekends and I never keep a car longer then 4 years. Seeing that my car is almost one year old and I only have 6k on my ride, I think I didnt need to spend the extra cash.
