According to consumerguide.com, the 2012 RL will just be a carryover of the restyled 2011.

Plus there was nothing new involving the RL at the International Autoshow. Maybe next year guys..

 

it doesn't rank very well on value within it's class, I think they got that part wrong. It's an excellent value for what you get.

 

037 - I agree. Amazing value, but I think they're on the "I hate the RL" bandwagon...

 

The rl is in a weird spot...it is nicer than the tl, but it's not substantially different. It's like a moremluxurious tl... They need to make it bigger, bigger engine, etc so it stands out more.

They made the tsx bigger...they made the tl bigger....when will they do the rl?

 

Well, I don’t know how creditable consumerguideauto.com is. But if this is true, then, that would mean the 3rd generation RL is gonna be a 2013 model year.

Which would really suck cuz then we have to wait that much longer for the next generation RL

 

I think there was another thread that already confirmed 3G was not until 2013
Which would make sense since 2011 was a MMC and they would want to get more than 1 year out of it

 

lets hope 2013 has something really cool coming... if they keep with their m.o. - they will upsize the RL and make it bigger.... but will Acura want to come out wiht an even more $$ model?

if an RL right now is in the high 40s... is the public going to buy an Acura that is in the 50k range?

i guess my thought would be - if Acura coudl make something that is as nice or nicer than what Hyundai is selling - Genesis - for the same money - people woudl rather have an Acura vs a Hyundai. Maybe Honda will finally doa V8? i mean.. if frickin' Hyundai can drop a V8 into thei rluxury car.. why not Acura????

then, once Acura has the V8 option, they can drop it into a future model TL as a Type S version!!
