2011 RL New Design?

I'm holding back on replacing my 2006 RL until I get some idea as to what the 2011 RL will look like. Anyone see a major new design coming?

By the way, Infiniti has a web page for their new 2011 M37. It comes with a 330HP V6 as standard. Here's the page:

Probably not since it just got refreshed last year. It seems Acura tends to ride out a design longer then most.

You'll be holding back on replacing your 2006 RL for a long time. The car just had its MMC in 2008 for the 2009 model. If Acura were releasing a new RL for the 2011 model year, we would have heard about it by now. There is so much turmoil about product plans (scrapping V8/RWD, will there be a hybrid, etc) from Acura that there is no way to know what to expect.

The new M looks, very, very nice. We'll see how Acura responds.

(Although I don't know how many 5.6L V8 models Infiniti will be selling in this economy...)

I am not really feeling the back of it especially the tailights, may look better in person. The interior is a step up for Infiniti though, as the old M interior was dull, especially in the metallic trim. In addiiton just like everyone complains about the TL's design all over the place, I see the same thing with the M, they flared the rear fenders whereas Acura flared the front fenders, same concept, and the M IMO, shows some overhand up front too.

I am liking the new M. I like the flowing lines and the awkward proportions of the current M seem minimized.

I like the interior features and some of the details, but a bit overdone.

I guarantee you that none of the media geniuses will even mention all those buttons, knobs and controls. In fact, I bet they will praise it.

But our RL? "TOO MANY BUTTONS!" cry those mental giants. Contrary to that carp, I find our RL very minimalist with controls in a techy, small center stack. The rest of the interior is an exercise in simple, elegant lines, materials and textures. I love that.

And should the next RL have even less 'buttons', I cannot wait to read the reviews...'TOO MANY BUTTONS!"

Thanks to all for the input. Looks like I'll go with the M when available. I love my RL but the 2010 and 2011 is and will be essentially the same as my 2006 but with an ugly grill. I did sit in the 2010 and it felt like I was sitting in my 2006. Barely any difference.

Hope the M will be as trouble free as the RL.

We understand. The new M will be available in not too much longer. I am on the fence about the looks. I am hopeful that the next RL, if it is not canned in the way Infiniti's Q was, will be a step up.

^^^

from that angle, it looks like a Buick LaCrosse to me...which I like the styling (no so much the grille).

Now that pedestrian impact regulations have returned more upright, even blunt front ends, it has again reshaped the design of many cars. The low aerodynamic front & wedge profile so prevalent in Honda designs for quite some time seem to be lost.

Car front ends look are looking more truck like, or at least CUV like.

If good comes from bad....I hope Acura's next RL will benefit with tasteful styling and restrained cliche. Thanks being an economic turn down and excessive styling gone out of fashion.

I still await an apology from Acura.

From that angle it looks like a Lexus and the others, very simple, no risk taking here.
Not for me.
