I have been looking for a 2011 or 2012 RL. I have an 05 now and I work in the car business. I have been looking at the auctions but as we all know theu are hard to find since so few were made. I have some found online. I noticed that some have ACC, adapter cruise control, on the right side of the steering wheel. If it has that does it mean it is a tech package with the advanced package? I assume Acura only made two packages those years. Also, does advanced package just add ACC and CMBS?

 

I think I found the answer. The advanced package adds ACC, CMBS and power folding mirrors. The tech package includes navigation which every one I have seen for sale has. I haven't found that many with the advanced package. Ivan not sure it is really worth it. I almost never use cruise control and would never use the power folding mirrors. CMBS is a nice feature to have but I have never rear ended anyway so far so I can probably live without it.

My biggest concern is the horrible interior color with the white exterior. It is probably the worst brown I have ever seen in a car. I don't think I can live with it as much as I love the white exterior.

 

I have the CMBS and ACC. They are the best features of the car, IMO. But if you don't use Cruise then I guess it's pointless unless you get in a head on or some idiot cuts you off.

 

There have always been three packages since 2007. Base with no nav or AFS, Tech I, and Tech II (also called CMBS and Advance ('09-'12) packages).

Wikipedia would have told you this.

 

I read the wiki page before I posted here. I am sorry but I must have missed where it stated what the advance package added. I'll try to be more careful before posting next time.

Do all of the white exteriors come with the brown upper dash? I love the white exterior but I absolutely hate the color of the upper doors and dash.

There are three interior colors. All of the parchment interiors will look like that. Taupe is a grey/khaki color and ebony is black. Parchment is probably the least popular.

 

The advance option, or Elite, adds acc and cmbs.

Power folding mirrors are on the 2011 & 2012 only along with a 6 speed transmission and backup sensors. None of these features existed on the RL in NA before then.

I take it the picture you posted is a Tech Package only? Coz all your plood matches in color.

 

It appears the pic I posted is of a tech package. No button on the right side of the steering wheel for ACC. I found that pic on Autotrader of a 2011 listed for sale.
