2009 RL CMBS grill replacement

Hi,
I have a 2009 RL but don't like the look of the beak grill (big surprise). I like the 2011 grill, or at least the bottom portion of it. Does anyone know:
1. Would the 2011 grill fit a 2009?
2. Is there a way to change the solid shield part of the grill with a typical striped grill pattern? i.e. Similar to the 2008 grill. I know there is a 2008 grill for CMBS but I don't like that look either.

Basically I am looking for a grill that is a combination of the 2011 and 2008 for my 2009 which will work with CMBS.

Thanks!
Jim

I have honestly never noticed a difference between '09 and '11. Are you talking about the chrome inlays on the '11 vs the black ones on the '09?

The '11 will fit the '09.
You cannot change the shield which is part of your ACC system.

It sounds to me like you need some plastidip and a steady hand.

Hi 007,
Thanks for the quick response. The "shield" portion I was referring to was the beak. Basically I would like to add the chrome inlays from the 2011 to the top of this grill and eliminate the beak. Nobody likes the beak.

I was thinking of doing the same thing but how can we be sure those parts from the 2011 or 2012 will fit the '09 or '10 model? The dealership is telling me they aren't 100% sure they will. I guess no one around here has done it yet.
