2009 2010 RL software update notification anyone?

There was a voice mail from Acura informing that I should be receiving a notification regarding 2009 2010 RL software upgrade to reduce transmission vibration between 2x to 45 miles. Anyone else received this notification?

I didn't, but I'm curious though. Did Acura call you on your cell? I would like more info on this too!

Had my 2010 at the dealer for B-16 maintenance last week and they performed the service. The RO states "Recall 12-029 5TUOO" "Product update campaign software update for lock-up clutch function (PGM-FI or A/T software)". I always found the transmission to be very smooth and responsive so not sure what fix was needed. Since I have not driven the car much since the work was performed I cannot say yet if I notice any difference.

Yes, Acura called and left a voice mail on my home phone. I know that my car has a rough vibration between 25-45 miles due to torque converter locking up early and the vibration goes away if I speed up. I hope this recall will take care of this.

Thanks for the reply. I found the TSB from the MDXers website. I had brought up this shudder problem to Acura when I bought my RL.

Hopefully this will help solve it. Liking the extended tranny warranty.

Was this just for 09/10? I have an '07 and seem to suffer the same issue...

I had this done on my 2010 MDX and it was for 2010 and up models. I think the 09 RL was the first RL to have this powertrain, I.E 3.7 with 6 speed?
It seems that everyone was happy with the new software with the MDX.

Interesting as the transmission I'm fairly sure is consistent through the 2g model ('05-'10+).

I have this vibration or so it seems I do with my '07..

dealer put the reason on motor mounts which were replaced but I still feel the vibration in my pedal between 20-45 mph..

The 09-10 RL have the 5 speed. But according to the RL release news, the transmission has been updated. The 10-11 RL's have the newer 6AT.

I used to feel the judder/vibrations before I changed the transfer case fluid and the transmission fluid. It helps a lot!

My '07 has the 5 speed as well. Changed the rear diff and transfer case fluid in 2010. I still have the vibration

I have an 07 and I've always thought the tranny was causing some vibrations. I hope there's a fix for us, too!

I called the dealer. Will take the car in this Saturday for the software update and A1 servicing. Will provide an update as to how the car handles after the update.

I will have mine updated tomorrow and I will also try to input my feedback too. But, I currently do not feel any judder or vibrations since changing the transmission fluid to ATF-Z1 DW1.

I had my 45000 mile checkup for my '10 last Saturday and this update was not done. Certainly the dealer was aware of the updating needing to be done.

AFTER UPDATE: Well, to tell you, I do not feel that much difference. 2nd gear shift is smoother. The car does seem somewhat "lighter" also responsive. I'll edit this as time goes on.

Update: I had the software update done past Saturday. The car feels much smoother in the lower gears and when climbing hills. The torque converter does not get locked early but it does get locked at some point and when it does I do still get the vibration and the exhause growl. On the good side, I see an improvement in gas mileage.
