2008 RL: Window Shades question

Hi everyone,

I just bought a '08 RL a few weeks ago and loving it! I have a question about the rear window shades (left & right). Is it okay to leave these in the up position all of the time? I like to leave them up to help keep the car cooler and protect the interior from the harsh summer months. I'm in Georgia heat and have to park the car outdoors during work hours.

Part of the reason I'm asking is because the shades seem to be warping a bit around the edges and not staying completely flat. I'm not sure if this is a defect or not but I'm sure the factory warranty would cover it if it is.

Thanks for your input!

Paul

I leave mine up all the time in addition to having tint. i do not see any issues with leaving the shades up at all.

Mine are always up because of the Florida Heat. So far, so good. (05).

I'm thinking of leaving mine up during the summer to hopefully protect the interior a little - as long as they aren't flapping around back there when the front windows are open.

Take care

I do the same as well in addition to leaving up the powered rear one in the summer.. Leaving the powered one up should be okay as well right??

I leave them up as well as the rear one. I WISH my 2011 had this feature.

I leave mine up all the time in the hot (relatively) Virginia sun.

Is there a way to override the feature that everytime you put it in reverse the rear window shade retracts?

Thanks,

I have not checked, but your telling me Acura removed the rear power shade from the 2011 RL. That would be bad, a so called luxury call should never decontent it's material, they added power folding mirrors as a option which should continue form 2011 on and everything else the RL currently offers, should be added on to.
