2007 RL Price Question

2007 RL Price Question
What is a good price for a 2007 demo with the A-spec wheels, body kit, upgraded steering wheel, with about 10K miles... If you had on the A-spec suspension, how much extra would it be?
Also would you buy it?
Also would you buy it?

I would say $36-37k? Just a guess based on KBB. A-Spec suspension costs $600 purchased on eBay, and another $400 to install, so call it $1k total. While I prefer new--demos are driven hard--that could be a good deal.

We're not talking about Mustang GT here.
It's a performance luxury car that usually has a salesperson accompanying the tester.
The typical demographic looking at these cars aren't taking them off-road every time they drive one.
Also, I know for a fact that many "demo" cars sometimes are driven by the dealership owner or general manager, and then sold as demos. Those guys aren't all beating on these cars.
I have purchased a couple of demo cars in the past, and have had good luck. You typically get them at a bargain. My current RL is new, but I did look long and hard at a demo.
Look at the car, ask for the maintenance history, and ask them to throw in or heavily discount an extended warranty. That should cover you in case something goes wrong down the road.

Yep. It was driven by the dealership's owner. I'm just a bit hesitant for the reasons mentioned, that it could have been driven hard..
Also, since it was driven by the owner, who's to say that it wasn't in an accident. I guess I could run a car fax on the vehicle. If it was in an accident with another car, then it may have been reported. If it was a 1 car accident, they could repair it and I wouldn't know a thing.
Thanks GoHawks for the suggestion about seeing the maintenance history of the car and if I go for it, having them through in an extended warranty (Acura not third party) at a heavy discount.
Neuron, I feel the same way as you do too. But if the money is right, maybe I'll go for it. Right now a 2008 tech package going for about 43K to 44K and a base is going for about 40K...
One more thing, forgot to say it is a 2007 tech package...

Even if it was painted, it doesn't mean you should run away. If they repainted a panel due to a scratch or a minor dent, it really isn't a deal breaker, provided the paint matches and it was done right.
My car was two months old and the roof needed to be repainted due to a stone that was kicked up and landed on the roof, putting a nice scratch along the top. The job was done well and despite what I said earlier, I challenge that anyone would ever know it was repainted. I guess I was referring more to major body work.
If anything, especially if it was minor, it would give you more leverage on the price.

Also, let me clarify. I forgot to mention, it comes down to price. I would never purchase a vehicle that was repaired for the same price as one that was untouched. Even though the car was never titled, it was used, and the price should reflect it.

Actually not. White is one of the hardest colors to match right.

I'm not an expert in painting, but I do have family who are mechanics that have done painting.
Tinting is one piece of it when you look at the different variations you can have of white. It may look white, but get it out in the sun and now it's Frost White, or Natural White, White Diamond Pearl. All colors I've had by the way and all very different.
Also, white and I believe red, if not regularly cared for (polished and waxed) will quickly begin to oxidate. How quickly obviously depends on the neglect and the elements (sun, snow, and salt).
Sometimes it's very gradual and is only noticeable once you repaint a section of the car.

Thanks so far for everyone's input. I'm going to work on this dealership and see what they can do. If I can get the car for 36K or less before tax, title and all the fees and keep it under 38K after everything is accounted for, I think I'd be happy. My wife not overly happy, but not overly upset either since I wouldn't break the 40K mark.. I'll have to see.

Well, just an update. The dealer sold the 2007.
I found another dealer with an 2007 Tech, 3000 miles demo, with a repainted bumper. They wanted $42,900 Needless to say, it doesn't look like it's going to happen with that dealer....

If it helps, I just bought a 2008 RL with Tech Package for $42,500 before TTL. It was a end January deal I worked out with the dealer in the Northern VA area.
Take care.

Yep, that's pretty much the deal I'm getting in Northern NJ.
I just find it insane that a dealer wants $42,900 for basically a 1 year old car, with a few thousand miles, and repainted bumper. I told them mid-30's would be a good number for me and they had a pretty lame response..
So they'll be holding onto the car for a few more months until reality strikes..
