2005 RL... what's it worth?

I'm going to be replacing my RL with an A8 in the not to distant future and it got me thinking I could just sell the RL before I got the Audi.

Anyway, I was hoping to get a ballpark idea of what these are bringing.

It's white with a tan interior. Has 95K miles on her and is current on all it's maintenance.

The car is in decent condition, not flawlwss, but certainly better than most I've seen for sale.

It has new rotors (OEM) and pads last year and A-spec shocks and springs from 30K miles earlier.

I also have a set (4) of factory wheels with Blizzak's and 2 additional wheels as spares.

So, what should I expect to get for her?

KBB says $10k. Ask for a little over that and don't expect more than $9k.

Has the timing belt been done?

Timing belt has not been done. The car has slightly than 95K miles on it and the belt isn't due until 105K. That's a little over 2 years for me at the current rate of usage.

I know for most people it will come sooner than that.

No tb done on an 05?? You are on borrowed time. It goes by mileage or time, 7 years/105k. Will it break tomorrow, probably not.

Btw, nice avatar. I've got an 86 911 targa.

Yeah, I know. I hear that mileage/time argument all the time with the other car. But every time I take the timing belts off they look as good as new. But you're right, I am assuming somewhat of a risk. If I were spinning the engine to 8,500 RPM (or whatever redline is on the RL) it might be a different story.

Thanks, I miss that car. The market has gone crazy on them (3.6 Turbo) this last year. I had a 86 Targa (factory widebody) a while back as well.

I called the dealer to see how much the parts are and they aren't bad. Even adding in the water pump, and bearings it's still mostly labor that makes it so expensive.

I'm actually in the market for an RL. I'd be willing to purchase the car as is if we can work out a deal..

Let me know

You can save a few bucks if you go through a Honda dealer.

The turbos have skyrocketed, $75k minimum now. My targa had doubled in price since I bought it in 08, but it's nowhere near the turbo range. All of the air cooled cars have jumped.
