The problem child strikes again! I don't know if you guys have had any problems with the vehicle speed sensors but since buying this car a little over a year ago it has been hell.
A few months ago I replace the input/main VSS sensor on this car and it fixed the tranmission problem and codes that the car threw. For instance it would lock the shifter until you turned the car off and on. The Speedo went whack. It wouldn't shift properly etc. Once replaced the car ran.
Now, a few months later, about 6 to be exact the car threw the p0723 and p0722 codes.
when I replaced the output/counter shaft speed sensor I assumed everything would be alright but it' not. About half way down the road it threw another code. This time p0717. This is the code for input/main shaft. The Speedo and shit returned to its prior shitty form.
This time though the car wouldn' shift at all. The Speedo was completely dead and it was stuck in 1st gear.
at this point it' not the sensors in my opinion. It must be a wiring or fuse problem. What do you think?
something like this I wouldn't buy Autozone parts, You can go here and purchase the OEM one 2006 Acura RL, pick up sensors the parts label #15 and #17.
I am having similar issue with my 2007 RL... I had many warning indicators pop up including the power steering warning light which through me for a loop. I figured it was electrical, but replacing the alternator did not help.
Have you figured out your issue? Can you tell me where the 2 sensors you replaced are located?
Found out you need this to properly gap the sensor inside the tranny housing. Improper gap you get scarring on the metal face of the sensor has that happened to you? Would cause erratic speedo readings, etc.
