Hey, I see your from lexington. I'm from florence. But anyways modding out a RL is either very custom or VERY expensive. There are only a handfull of parts made. There are 3 exhaust the cheapest being 1500. a modified AEM intake that will work. tein coilovers. a few sets of lowering springs. and only 1 bodykit. So what are your plans as far as "modding" it out? Also the car is engineered so well it is kindof painful to mess with it. I would be interested to hear your plans though!

RL mods--it's a sticky at the top of the forum page.
The intake is inexpensive as far as mods go, around $300. A new pulley for weight savings or underdriving (each is available) is less than $100.

VIP style wheels....no one's done that to their 2G RL yet. I don't get VIP styling myself, but enough people enjoy it that if you like it, go for it. You only live this life once.

As far as head's up on a 2005 RL....have you checked out the usual suspects yet? (e.g. autotrader, carsdirect, your local dealer, etc) yet?

BTW, welcome to AZ!

I am also interested in a used RL, but I have only seen 2005 for the most part. Has anyone started to see some of the 2006s come up for sale?

So far I am coming across 2005s with anywhere from 35K-60K miles and ranging from 18K to about 23K in the Mpls/St Paul area. I am hoping to find a 2005 in the 18K dollar range, but as of yet they are few and far between.

The search continues...

Saw the first '06 today since I've been looking (~2 weeks). 24K miles, dealer's listing it at $29,900. Way high. Same dealer has 2 - 2007's w/ <20K miles for 32.9 and 33.9.

There are more than one bodykit

Aspec
Mugen
Value Sport
Amuse

For coilovers you could go H&R which you can find for about 1200$ instead of the Tein which is 2000$

Hard to believe there's much comparison between an 07 tl and an 05rl. I'd suggest you go on edmunds or one of the other sites that list the features. I drove them both before choosing the rl. TL was a little sportier, but didn't handle quite as well and lacked a lot of the luxury the rl offers. TL was also noticeable smaller.

Acura 2005 rl mods

So I currently just got my hands on an rl 2005 standard black and I definately want to make some changes to make it more personalized. I'm kinda new to car modding and could use some more suggestions on ideas and tips for anything to change. Like people said I'm pretty satisfied with the RL's performance as it is so i won't be making as much changes there.

Tons of threads on mods. Check out the photography section for build threads.

This might help too. https://acurazine.com/forums/second-...od-rl-833171/?
