2005 Acura RL 315K miles and still going strong

I just wanted to say Hi and wish everyone a Happy New Year, yeah even you Tampa (fish-breath) RL!

I gave my '05 RL away to my friends 16 year-old son last August. He was complaining about not having a car or a job--yeah it's a serious problem for a kid to have. Since I hadn't driven it in about a year and all it does is take up space, I thought WTF, it couldn't go to a better person! If a 16 year-old kid can't beat the shit out of it and have it continue to be a guinea pig for this forum, no one else could. He reports that the beast is running perfectly and now has 315,000 miles. He said he's been doing some "sweet drifting" in the snow and the Dunlop WinterSport tires are amazing.

Neuron Bob, Tampa & all the rest on the forum, have a prosperous and great New Year.

Cheers.

A true Legend! I point out your feat everytime someone doubts the reliability or longevity of a Legend.

Please make sure that boy changes his fluids regularly.

I'm sure the boy does not need a lesson in changing his fluids, make sure he takes care of the car...

I'm still in a racing movie, problem is my radar detector just died a 2nd time in as many months.

Driving speed limit is dangerous...*shudder*

Either I missed the innuendo, or that was extremely contradictory.

the first part had something to do with the boys age, the second with the age of the car. Both completely unrelated but linked to the word "fluids".

Of course, it could have been just a bad joke.

Happy New Year man!

So in less than 200k miles, you could have gotten your own party in Torrance.

How many times have you changed the timing belt in 315k miles? What other major repairs have you had to do?
