2005 or 2007?

What would be the best deal?
2005 RL 30,000 miles $25000 or 2007 RL 20000 miles, $28000

I would go for the 2007. Younger car, less milage, all the kinks worked out of the first year model. Both are awesome buys, but like i said, i would go for the 2007.

are they both equipped with the same packages???

No comparison, the newer RL is the better buy because the 2005 will have 2 years of extra depreciation when you eventually sell it and the warranty will will expire before the 2007's. Good point about whether they are the same equipment ie both "tech" models or not.

Essentually the same car. But as mentioned, 2005 came in one flavor, whereas 2007 came in 3 flavors:

BASE (deleted NAVI, Adaptive Headlights, and plood dash instead of real wood).

TECH (Includes deleted features from BASE, wood dash and backup cam)

TECH+CMBS /ACC/ PAX (Includes Adaptive Cruise, Collisin Mitigation and PAX run flat tire system)

07 also has a longer OEM warranty than the 05.

05 has ONSTAR (only offered on 05 and 06)

If you decide on the 05, be sure to ave the TSBs (posted on this forum) applied as part of the sale. Otherwise it is up to you based on wear & tear and the relative value.

I'm new to RLs, I do not know which trim the 07 has. It does have navigation, and wood trim. Does that make it the tech package? Thanks

it could be the tech package but you need to know if the car has pax tires or the collision mitigation braking system to differentiate from the tech package and the tech + CMBS package. and the base model would have the wood trim too but it would be fake wood not real wood as in the other packages. either way though, the 2007 model I feel like would be the better route to take.

I got to be honest, the 28k for an 07 tech is too good to be true...

the 25k for the 05 is a little high.

I did it. I got the 2007, according to myacura.com the serial indicates that it is the tech package.

Technical Service Bulletins. They are not recalls, but bulletins to address issues being reported by owners. Everything from squeaky brakes, propellor shaft whine to simple buzzes, rattles, or pop up power ports not closing.

There is a sticky in the forum to review these.

Take the 2007 without question. But, I agree with Larry, the price seems a little low. Do a CarFAX on it to be sure it was never in any serious accidents. Best $30 investment you can make.

Good luck!

Congrats! The 2007 was a good choice. Did the Carfax show any issues? Just asking, given the price.

Actually guys, Last week on Ebay.. Mercedes-benz of Orlando, had a 2007 Acura RL with 29k miles on sale....get this.....for. $24,500. I checked the carfax, it was perfect. I even spoke to the dealership manager, he assured me there was nothing wrong, and he knew it was a ridic great price. They put it on ebay, and sold it on two days, I watched it hour by hour, with 6minutes left, i called the dealer, but got cold feet and backed off(only cause it was not a color i wanted...looked like light purple, no offense to those who have it). He said, they are a high volume MB dealer, and they rarely keep non-mb cars, and it was a trade-in...person took a hit on it, and dealer passed on savings.

I thought it was too good to be true as well...but it actually ended up being a steal.

I also forgot to mention....when I had called in, I asked the manager, if they'd sell it to me, instead of on ebay....he said the reserve had already been met, and they would honor it, and sell it at the price. Reserve was 800 below buy it now, so some lucky guy, got a 2007 with 29k miles for around 23,700. I hated myself for like two days straight...but figured...wasnt meant to be I guess.
