15,000 Mile Service
15,000 Mile Service
Several have indicated their disappointment with the cost of the 1st and 2d service visits compared to Lexus/Volvo and luxury autos. Well, let me share with you my recent 15,000 mile service with Acura of South Florida.
Purchased my 2005 RL in 31DEC04 & have taken excellent care of it, Only 14,941 miles in 16 months when I took it in on 20APR06 for service. Even brought it to FL on the autotrain when we moved to keep the miles off it.
15K mile service was $390.02 ($98.30 Parts/$350.30 Labor/$17.64 Enviro Fee). After paying the bill I check to see if they logged the service and discover the User's Manual and registration is not in the car. I go back and ask service dept if they can look for it, it's noon on Saturday and no response...we'll call you on Monday. On WED I call and speak to Francisco Delgado 131603 and I get the 'Oh Well, stuff happens' attitude, we'll look around and call you back. Wait 3 days and call back, 'can't find it'. Wait 3 days and call back, 'can you come by and pick one up?...'No, would you mind mailing it to me, it's 2 hrs out of my day'. It has now been a month and no response and no mail. Also filled out the only service survey and got no response.
You have a problem with your Treo650 setup buddy? Try doing it without your users manual. Or maybe you're a little concerned the registration is missing out of your vehicle and the next time you get stopped the cops discover your RL VIN# is being used on another stolen RL. Welcome to Sunny South Florida.
Oh, can't begin to tell you my excitement when I discovered Acura is opening a new dealership at I-75 & Pines in Pembroke Pines and I won't have to drive to Hollywood any more, just hope it is not owned by the same organization.
PS...Had a 2002 & now 2005 RL - Love the car

I wish we could outsource service to Japan! It's not Acura, it's US as in U.S.A. Although your location doesn't help.
South Florida is like NYC with Palm trees. I grew up in NY/NJ. When I go to South FLA I have flashbacks/nightmares. I live in Orlando now. 200 miles away but it might as well be a million miles. Totally different. Come up here

who do you go to for service? I've not had very good luck with Courtesy so far... By the way, you are correct about S Fl; I drive down at least once a week and it's MAD!!
Thx,
I live in south Orange and use Fountain Acura. The Service Manager there is a skinny blonde but she's a little Drill Sergeant and keeps that service dept running very well. They have several excellent mechanics there that help make sure important things get done right. Higher degree of integrity then your average service depts.
I heard Courtesy was good also as well the Acura in Lakeland. Heck, they're all pretty good around here. But then you hear all these horror stories about these psycopathic dealerships.
