149 very happy and soon to be ecstatic people. A special type we all are..., ones who recognize and know what real value is! Our RL's style is "Timeless" and I will keep her until she retires.

Keep in mind the 09 RL production ended in late January.

I would find it interesting to find out how many RLs were produced and how many have sold thus far. Although I have not seen an RL advert since early last spring, perhaps Acura has sold most of what has been produced, which is better than a glut of unsold inventory the RDX is experiencing.

I stopped at 3 different Honda dealerships while traveling Europe and saw not one LEGEND at a dealership.

*Greetings from London: Heading back to the USA tomorrow!*

I am curious as to which RL's are counted in the monthly numbers. Can it be any model year as long as it is still a new vehicle? CPO's probably don't count because they were already sold once. What about demo RL's that were sold, do they count?

Only 1st time titled vehicles. CPO are preowned. Dealer Demo's are often under factory / dealer title and can be sold as 'new' within certain mileage parameters (determined by state MV regulations).

I'd think demos get counted when they're sold to the dealer.

I really wish Acura would get some advertising out on the RL, or at least hint at a new model

I think the RL is simply on ice until the economy picks up. I'm sure the designers in Torrance are busy with new Acura-specific styling for the next RL. Hopefully they won't muck it up like the TL. I want to eventually be an Acura owner again, I hope they give me a good reason. (...and no, it's not due to dissatisfaction with my CTS-V, it's had a trouble-free 6000 miles so far and I am totally enjoying it. Shocking for a GM product, I know.)

In the Honda annual report, it states that the new assembly plant in Yorii which was to open in 2010 is delayed 'at least 2 years'. This was the plant that the next gen RL was to be assembled (the anticipated RWD V8 rendition). If the next gen RL stays at Saitama (I hope still Japanese assembled ) perhaps it will be an evolutionary model from the 2nd gen RL? Not that Saitama cannot be retooled to handle a dramatic change, but Saitama was due to close in 2010 and be totally renovated. Likewise a new engine factory was due to open next to Yorii to produce the V8 and V10 engines in 2010. I cannot find ANY mention of what is going on with this factory.

I liked your comments on Edmunds regarding your CTS-V...

I rarely see any RL's around here and I'm shocked. For the money and the standard features, it's a hell of a deal compared to a comparable 5-series or E-class. Just my of course.

I love the RL and if something were to happen to my TL (knock on wood...) I would seriously consider a RL

NeuronBob, I am mostly shocked that you BOUGHT a GM product!! But hey, I've read great reviews about the CTS-V, most recently it's win against the Jaguar XFR, one fast ride, congrats!! I did test drive the humble CTS prior to my Infiniti purchase and it was quite nice. Trying to stay within topic, I see no real end to the RL woes, despite it being one of the finest vehicles I have ever owned. (My wife still curses me for trading in on my G37 coupe!) Recent automotive news from a press conference with replacement CEO Takanobu Ito stated they have no plans to move forward with a corporate V-8 or a rear drive platform for the RL. I have no idea what they plan to do with the RL but it looks like it won't be on my radar anytime soon. 2011 Infiniti M56S... different story.
