'09 TL Tech

Took my '06 RL in for routine maintenance and to have some warranty items addressed before warranty expiration. I was given an '09 TL Tech pkg as a loaner (will keep over the weekend while parts are ordered). Just a tad bit smaller than my RL and the features are close to being equal (no SH-AWD, auto T&T steering column). I like the weather info on the Nav and the read out on the radio (FM particularly - artist, song, station, etc.) Also, the seat appear to me to be more comfortable. Push botton start in cool too. Not a bad car overall. Now, if they could design a SH-AWD 6 MT version I would trade the '08 TSX Nav 6MT.

I like the new TL, and the top of the line SH-AWD TL gives serious pause before someone makes a pitch for the RL. Especially the uninformed who are scared away by the MSRP and don't realize that any remaining RLs can be had on the cheap.

Having said that, I've been living with a new TL for a couple of days while I too am awaiting parts for warranty work on my '06 (See Steering column thread). I'm sorry, but the TL still doesn't "feel" at the same level as the RL. The materials, the cabin layout, ride, etc. The TL has a bit more jump because it's lighter and also because the FWD model I'm driving doesn't have to drive two more wheels.

I've enjoyed the TL experience, but I want my RL back.
