09 and pre 09 rear differential....

Hello everyone, I have some questions on the 09 rear differential that drives the rear wheels on SHAWD.

1. how different is it from the 05-08 rear differential.
2. is it a complete hardware change or is it just a computer program upgrade?

I've came across a complete 09 rear differential and wonder what'll happen if I swap that into an 05-08 RL

No change in the hardware. Only change was in software and sensor points to react with suspension tweaks and wheel change.

Is your goal to build the 6 Million Dollar RL?

Better, stronger, faster.....

Well I did not know you ALREADY purchased it. Can you spell I-M-P-U-L-S-E Buyer?

Well I would personally clean it up, mount it on a pedestal and display it as art.

Or perhaps it will replace your kitchen can opener, blender, toaster oven and sledge-O-matic?

Being in Florida...the project you REALLY nead to undertake is cooled seats conversion. Then I will have you do my RL.

Subconsciously I think OP is in-love with the 09 "power plenum" design and has shown many cues of sexually frustration with his 06 RL. Please make sure you lube before you insert in the differential.

I am a bit of an impulse buyer but with the price tag of $150, (for a $4,800 item) who can turn it down.... i guess they made an offer I can't refuse.... who knows, i might even keep it in a glass display trophy case to remind me of that part that started it all for the new gen of acuras to come....

as for the cool seat, i'm keeping my eyes out... and don't forget the armrest piece on the door panel... other than that, I don't really care for the outside in your face grill

You’re making this way to easy Phil! However I will try to resist the temptation, since I notice a lot of your thought provoking threads end up turning in to a ditch quickly due to some off end response by a couple entertaining members.

As much as I understand the benefit of the finger cup grips in the door armrest for grabbing the door, I really did not care for the look of it. Considering how so much thought went into the interior design and flow, it just looked like an afterthought to me. I do like the LEGEND style shifter but agree the wood trim console would have me vibrating over the fingerprints.

It appears to me the 09 RL center stack has less of a silver look and more of a bronze look, which I think looks nice in parchment interiors.

And just to warn both of you knuckleheads... if either of you approach my RL with 'that' look in your eye.... I keep a baseball bat behind the door.

LOL..... regardless of where the thread is headed, as long as the entertainment value is there with hint of usefulness, it's all good..... sharing ideas, have few laughs, makes teh day go by more enjoyable...... it's like talking to friends from different place

and Tampa, we all know better not to disrespect the man's car.... it's an ultimate sin..... so use the bat on someone who look at your car funny.... Ryan, u hear thatLOL
