08 RL vs 08 TL-S
I own a TL-S my dad drove the car and loved the way the handling felt and I have been trying to convince him to get an 08 RL with A-Spec rims and suspension.
If he gets the 08 RL with the a-spec rims and suspension will the handling be similar. He was unable to find one in Chicago area to test drive I searched threads but didnt find many comparing the two. I am sure he can get a great price on an 08, hes looking to buy a new car by the end of the month.

Um, yeh, it's the shiznit. I'm sick, so I don't feel like typing much. Check out post #2 in this thread for driving impressions compared with the TL with A-Spec etc.: Official neuronbob™ RL review-LONG.
Love driving the car just as much a year and a quarter after that review. The only more fun drive would be a sports car, which I am looking to add to my stable soon.
I have driven the 08 TL-S and I own a 06 RL with Aspec Suspension and Rims. Although the 2 cars are completely different, if your dad like the handeling, then I believe he would love the Aspec RL. The Aspec Suspension and the SH-AWD are a perfect match and make the drive a dream.
You can always pick up the RL and install the Aspec kit later and probably even save some money. Everything you need can be purchased online and a lot cheaper then if you got it at your dealer.
If he lives in Chicago, the TL is known for not being great on snow. The RL is very good on the snow, although you may want to ditch the stock tires for something better.
We just got nailed with yet another snowstorm, and my RL handled it like a dream.
As stated on another thread (which I can't find), the cars are quite different, so I think alot depends on owner personality. The TL-S I would imagine, appeals to someone who wants a manual tranny and a high revin' yet good looking and somewhat upscale car. The RL is more refined and laid back.
