Hi All,

I just purchased a 08RL with 59K. It is extremely hot and when I use the AC I noticed in comparison to my previous car 03TL and my buddies 09 Accord my AC does not blow air anywhere near as the two cars I mentioned. The air temperature is cold although not ICE cold like some of you have mentioned. I have played with all the settings (auto), fan speed to the max, AC is selected "ON".

I am envious of my buddy s 09 Accord AC system. I am pretty sure this cant be the way it should be. Once the AC is on for 30min + its gets pretty cool in the car.

Any suggestions or fixes are greatly appreciated.

Take it to a shop and have the system evacuated and recharged. It probably a little low of refrigerant. After about 4 years on a car that is normal for most.

It doesn't sound right. Are you doing this while at an idle before driving? All cars do better as you drive. I don't know if this is due to increased air flow or more RPMs driving the charging system, but cars typically do much better at speed than at first idle. Still, it sounds like you need a checkup. Is the car CPO or still under warranty?

Sounds like it might be the cabin filter to me. A very simple job to do and you can tell just by looking at it - mine was black and full of leaves. Instant increase in chill. Instructions on how to get at it are in the garage section and in the owners manual (in Europe anyway). Good luck.

My AC on my '08 is weak as well. It will get cold eventually but it does take a little while to do so.

Wow....what a difference the Cabin filter made! My air is amazing now! Here is a pic of how dirty the filter was...I did remove pieces of leafs from the cabin and a few from the filter.

I guess i'll be checking the cabin filter on my 05 RL because I just dropped 1k at the stealership to replace the Compressor, Clutch and strator set

Although they did say they "bleed the breaks" *sigh* and now the left HID is starting to flicker but after reading and searching its just a matter of time to replace it. Which I'm bound to do sooner or later....
