06' RL A/C clutch solenoid
06' RL A/C clutch solenoid
A/C compressor clutch works fine most of the time. However intermittently it will stop engaging. Refrogerant pressures seem good. Relay checks out. I am thinking maybe a poor ground on the clutch coil or malfunctioning coil. Has anyone ever changed out the coil? Can it be done without removing compressor from car? Any advice? I have reviewed the service manual seems doable. Space under the hood may be the problem. Any thoughts would be helpful.
Have you read the service bulletin for this? It addresses this similar problem.
I was experiencing your exact problem, normally under heavy or WOT. After a few minutes, the AC reengaged. Upon the field coil fix, no more issues.

Yes, I reviewed the service manual. That is how I narrowed the problem down to the clutch coil. Did you do the repairs yourself or a service center? When you say field coil fix do you mean you replaced the coil or was you able to get a better ground? I am thinking securing the ground better/ cleaning contacts may help. Thanks for the feed back sounds encouraging, I first thought the compressor was going to need to be replaced.
