Hello guys, I've been an RL owner for about a year now. Picked up my certified used 06 RL at 54k miles. I'm now at 71k and have developed some issues. I've had the driveshaft replaced under warranty last year. Today though as i was driving home (about 20 miles from my house) my battery light came on and the message "check charging system" appeared. I'm almost 100% sure this is the alternator, what do you guys think? Oddly as well when I was almost home, the Sh-AWD light came on as well. I'm just frustrated at this point. Anyone had an alternator replaced before? Around how much damage $$ is this gonna cost me

 

put a volt meter on the battery when the engine is running and see what it reads. If it goes about 13 - 14.5 then alternator is prob Ok. A bad battery cell can pull voltages down enough that the system malfunctions.
