06 RL $599 per month lease on Acura.com

It says the new capitalized cost is $43,713.13 which I think is good when used 2005 RL's are selling for over 40K on cars.com. $599 per month for 36 months with $3694 due at signing. Then it says 20 cents over per mile. Anyone getting 15 cents without paying extra?

It says this deal expires on 1/31/06. Is'nt that just a gimmick? Would'nt this exact same deal still be available next month?

Does anyone know how their lease deal works? I want to buy this car but thinking about selling my used 04 TL first so I would probably need a month.

Let me know. Thanks!

Deal changes all the time, so nobody really knows what it will be next month. But that is a LOT to put down for a lease. It's not a good deal IMO.

I agree that is a lot to put down. Was thinking about going 72 months on a purchase with the idea that I could use that same $43,713 price? Thinking about putting 10% down or even 15%.

Would a dealer offer that price or would they only consider for a lease?

I would imagine they would consider that... the 05' were selling for 41-43k (43 being the more realistic number). I don't remember if there was any factory incentive on that.

Be willing to travel a bit, call all the dealers in the radius you are willing to travel to. I see you are in OH, whatever you do, do NOT buy from Suburban Acura in Farmington Hills, MI. True idiots over there with no regard for you as a customer.

Ann Arbor Acura has a pretty good sales department. I was able to get my TL price below invoice when the 05s first came out. They were not willing to deal on the RL when I bought my RL. Good luck with the search

$599 per month for 36 months with $3694 due at signing.
I can only presume the '06 is about the same price as the '05
when I bought it.

My '05 RL lease deal was almost exactly the same as yours
but I am paying $532 per month 36 months with about $3000-$3500
down.

PLUS I talked them into installing a spoiler, mud guards, wood knob
and all-weather mats.

I think if you play the game of walking out on them and letting
them pursue, you can get close to the deal I got.

Lease deals = bait to lure you into the dealership. They come and go all the time and can be negotiated. I would never put a large down payment into a lease, unless you absolutely needed a lower monthly payment. But if it's a financial burden, then you probably shouldn't be looking into the car. Anyhow, I'm currently leasing an '05 for about $608/month (after taxes) with 15k miles a year. Besides the first month's rent, I put $0 down. No security deposit either.

I would suggest negotiating the heck out of the cap. cost of the $43,713.13 you mentioned. Check for lease incentives. There was a $2k incentive on the '05 back when I got mine. Maybe there's one for the '06. Then hit up other forums like edmunds.com or leaseguide.com. They are excellent resources for finding out things like regional market values, current money factor, etc...

Question: How does American Honda come up with the residual value? For example after 48 months, my car is suppose to be worth $25K. I say BS. I think even if I stayed within 12K miles a year, the car will be worth only $14K. In that case, would it be best to turn it in and then buy it from the dealer at $14K or will Honda sell the car for the true residual?

wow, $608 after taxes with 0 down is an excellent deal for a new RL. Where are you located?

Perhaps you could get your salesaman to give me that some offer....

Here's how they do it. They have a big dart board with various values. They blindfold themselves, toss the dart, and hope for the best. Kidding aside, residual values amount to nothing more than a FAT guess. The estimate is done by the leasing company based on the history of past models and a prediction of what consumer tastes will be. Residual values are usually non-negotiable. Notice I said "usually" and not "always". IMHO, the residual value of the '05 RL has been inflated. In other words, it will more likely be cheaper for you to buy a used RL off the lot versus buying out your lease after the 48 months.

That is precisely the method I used to buy my RL. My Credit Union offers 72 month financing with zero money down. I didn't go too crazy though, so I put 10% down, and financed the balance for a reasonable monthly payment. My deal back in August for my '05 was for about $43,500, so that price for an '06 seems pretty good to me.

P.S. Since I don't want to go out that long on any car purchase, I'll make principal reduction payments periodically. I'd like to have the car paid off in three years. But, the 7 year amortization keeps my cashflow reasonable.

I can't get anything better than $599 per month including tax with $3000 cash on a new 2006 RL.

If you've done better, can you help me out?

I got $570/mo (36 mos, 12k/year) w/ nothing down on a 2005 in November.

I can't imagine you would get better than that.

BTW - On a 3 year lease "$3694 due at signing" = add'l $102/month. Call a spade a spade.

$570 per month including sales tax?

I can't get that now on an 06 RL. Did the price change that much from 05 to 06?

Buy vs. Lease the RL

In general, lease vs. buy in most instances is a wash.

IMHO, This lease only works if:
A.) You tend to change cars every few years anyway.
B.) You want to drive a New, really great state of the art car without much out-of-pocket expense initially (or for service along the way)
C.) You can afford $600-$700 a month vs. say $950.00 mo.
D.) You walk (or run) away from the car at the end of the lease because the residual is a joke of course, but keeps the front end of the lease artificially low so they can move some units.

I think he means keeping the monthly lease cost low. E.g. The lease price on other cars in the same class (e.g. A6) can be upwards of 800-900 because of poor residual values.

Has anyone leased an 06 rl for a better deal than acura deal on their site? If so, what did you pay?
