05RL Paint Problem

Have others of you encountered a strange problem with the paint on the 05RL i.e., getting tacky in spots?

We noticed a spot on the driver's side right front panel that looked sticky - but we were not sure whether it was the paint - or something else. After trying to remove it with a spray McGuires product that claims to remove different types of spots... we were convinced it was the paint.... not something else. We are wondering if this is a general problem...or just one confined to our vehicle...which in every other way has been quite wonderful.

I had the same problem that ASP is referring to above. It was not the actual paint.

Hi, Larry!

Read that thread above!

Definately the glue residue from the paper
your car was wrapped in during delivery.

I noticed that in certain spots our car had some left over glue. Before detailing, I used a new microfiber cloth and some goo-off and removed the spots. Most of these spots were on the roof area near the fin, and under the mirrors. I guess the detailers at Acura are a bit lazy. I also found some plastic sheeting in the interior door jams and under the side sills too.

If you do use goo-off, use a clean microfiber cloth and then wash it immediately.. then apply a few coats of wax afterwards.
