05 RL Squeaky center console???
Love the car, hate the squeaky center console. Every time I brake or take off, or go over gutters, the center console creaks and squeaks.
Anyone have any suggestion? I bought some spray lubricant that evaporates and leaves a film of Teflon or whatever, didn't notice much of a change.

Be sure you check the garage before posting stuff like this - it's pretty well documented if you do a search as well. there's a TSB on the squeaks:

The center console creaking was the reason I joined this forum a long time ago. Ironically, I never bothered to fix it as it kind of went away on its own.
However, it has recently re-emerged with a vengeance after my shocks blew out. Especially if the temperature is really cold or hot. I downloaded the attached PDF, but does anyone have any pictures of the felt placement that can supplement the schematic?

I finally was able to fix this!
After buying loads of various types of felt tape, most of which was too thick, I gave up for a bit.
Not only that, but the annoying noise wasn't actually coming from the outside edge of the center console, but it was in fact caused by "rubbing" between the silver shifter plate and center console.
I pulled up the center console, applied masking tape (of all things) completely around the shifter plate edge where it seats to the inside edge of the center console, reinstalled the center console and the noise (that I've endured since I purchased the car in 2006 lol) is finally gone!
It's completely silent now! No more groans, squeaks or anything! Feels like a new car in a weird way, haha.
Thanks again!

I did all that and it seems to have helped.
But I did recently find the rearmost two bolts of the undershield (near the transfer case) had worked very loose and it was flapping up & down. The rattles seem to be even more cured now. I think its movement might have been irritating the interior console/dash fittings.
