pretty simple; have factory wheels? use factory locks!
aftermarket wheels? use aftermarket locks!

because of the different shaped lugs; you will need to use a lug that corresponds to your wheels.

Stock wheels have a ball seated lug nut
after market wheels use a cone shaped lug nut.

Do you have OEM rims or aftermarket? When I had OEM wheel locks with OEM rims, every place I went for tire maint had their own universal wheel lock key and didn't need mine. Only the laziest and dumbest crackhead thief would be slowed down by OEM wheel lock. I have aftermarket rims on all three Acura's now and went with Gorilla wheel locks that has an unique lug key for each vehicle ($14 on Amazon). I needed the conical type for aftermarket RonJon rims and OEM rims need ball type lugs (not sure if the newer +13 Acura's still have ball type lugs).

I kept my OEM rims as full size spares for all three vehicles and I had to keep the OEM lugs in the vehicles because they are not interchangeable with the aftermarket rims conical lugs. I actually have two different types rim locks on my rims. $14 for wheel locks is a lot cheaper than $2400 -$3000 for new tires/rims.

^FYI; I can take off an aftermarket lock without the key.

it should be used as a deterrent. the longer it takes for a thief to break into, the more chances that they'll give up.

After watching the many videos online, it is very easy to remove those wheel locks.

^aftermarket is a little harder, but still do-able using the same method.

I had lost my key to my aftermarket lugs and all i did was place a slightly smaller socket over it, hammer it on....then used the breaker bar to loosen it.
Voila!

throw away socket and lock when done.

The best way to go is maybe layers of security like:
- not putting the vehicle in a situation where the tires/rims can be stolen (clean out the garage of junk and use it for your car)
- add wheel lock(s), I have two different types
- add a very loud 2-way alarm that will also alarm your remote if triggered (have this on my son's TSX since he has to park outside and at H.S.)

Still no guarantee against a determined thief;but, it might slow them down enough to move on to the next one.
