As another data point, I used to have this happen to my '13 MDX about once every few months, with no rhyme or reason (hot, cold, wet, dry, different gas stations). All I could figure was that the cap seal would get "wonky" once in a while and let some air pass. In each case, a re-seating of the gas cap and a few start/stop cycles cleared the warning.

on the wife's '12 TL I've never seen that warning popup, and so far (knock on wood) neither on the RDX....

Mine does that every now and then (like three times in two years). I just loosen the cap and re-tighten it six or eight clicks and the warning goes away after a while. I doubt that you overfilled it. I usually click the nozzle a couple times too, to run it up to the nearest amount. It seems to be a common idiosyncrasy of the RDX. I wouldn't worry about it unless it won't doesn't away or starts to happen often.

I've seen this happen on my 14 MDX too.

There is a pressure sensor in the tank and if it doesn't see what its supposed to see it'll throw this light. If you guys are seeing this try making sure the gas cap is free from debris and then click it a number of times. If that doesn't work... service dept.

After inspecting the gas cap and filler tube for problems, and after the next fill up, I still got this message. So I replaced this part (Acura part replacement) from the TSB. Same problem continues. If not this, what else? [G3 2006 TL]. Thanks!

Folks, my 2012 RDX manual says, on page 354, to tighten the cap at least one click. It goes on to say that over-tightening may cause an issue with a sensor that results in the warning we all have seen. Many of you on this forum advised to remove and retighten the cap with one or three clicks. I will try this, although my warning has not re-appeared for 2 days, now. I usually click it 3-5 times, so I will try one click if the warning comes back.

I had this problem 2 years ago, and like a booby I didn't read the manual but took it to the dealer. Over $100 later, they reported that they could not find a problem but replaced the gas cap and it went away. They should have read the manual, too, I guess.

Replacing the PCV is what finally worked for me. Relatively painless. 2006 TL

Nice when it's simple. On another vehicle, I had to pull the tank and replace the gasket on the fuel pump mount.
