Squeak in or around the glovebox?

I have a 2013 RDX Tech. For the past several weeks, I have been hearing something similar to a mouse squeaking either inside or around my glovebox (Yes, I've emptied out the box including the shelf). It seems to happen on sunny days when the car is left outside for a while (and the interior gets hot). Once the interior cools down or on cloudy days, I hear no noise. So, I am guessing that it's something expanding and contracting with the heat. Took it to the dealer last week and they tightened the glove box door, but that wasn't it. It definitely does not sound like a wind noise. Anyone else hearing anything similar?

the fit of the glove box door is actually not snug. that I have noticed so far. You have to slap it in with some force to get it to close which is indicative of a poor fit.

Your heater core and AC functions are behind the glove box. There could be something going on there. Also sounds like when it expands it's rubbing against something. Could be nothing but on the other hand annoying.

Thanks. I did notice that, of all things, my EZ-Pass was loose on my windshield. Don't think that it would make this noise, but I haven't heard it since I re-mounted it yesterday. The problem is that it is nearly impossible to diagnose while driving (it goes away after a few minutes and never seems to do it when someone else is in the car (so they can drive and I can figure it out. This would be logical if the noise were coming from the passenger seat, but I don't think that it is...

I figured it out as I had a similar squeak start last week on the driver's side. As you know, there are 2 drip rails that run the entire top of the car. The black, plastic piece that fits in these grooves also runs down either side of the front windshield. At the bottom of the windshield, it goes into another plastic piece that goes around the bottom of the windshield and under the hood. Those 2 plastic pieces were rubbing together on both sides of the windshield, where they meet, causing the squeaking noise on both sides. I sprayed some silicone spray where they both meet together and that solved the problem. My car was quiet on the way to work this morning...

It's great to hear that it was something minor and easily taken care of once diagnosed. I bet that you had a great sense of relief on your way to work this morning. Congrats.

I was experiencing a noise like that and was very annoyed. Had somebody ride with me and he found out it was my sunglasses in the holder above. Put in a certain way they set off a squeaky vibration. Problem solved, it seems. I might add extra cushioning on the inner sides of the holder.
