i just leased a 2014 RDX and had the dealer install a remote start. not the Acura remote start but an after market. they tell me that after i start the car remotely and then open the door the car will turn off. i then have to wait 10 seconds and then restart normally. this makes no sense. anybody have a clue? thanks

 

its true. Most push button start vehicles do not have engine take over and the RDX is one of them. You don't really have to wait 10 seconds to restart, just until the orange light on gauge cluster goes out. I think it looks like a little orange key that lights up

 

dc5k is right. Even if you install an OEM remote starter you'll have the same issue.

 

Annoying for sure. On mine, aftermarket installed by the dealer, it's also important to hit unlock on the separate fob. If you don't, you get error codes for the security system.

 

Hi, I had acura install the factory remote starter. When I start the car none of the lights go on. The remote tells me that the car started but is there a way to make the headlight go on or at least flash when I start the car with the remote.
