I assume you tried to adjust the mirror to the correct position and then pressed the appropriate seat position memory button to have the car re-learn where you want it?

Passenger side mirror moved to max unfold position
My Acura RDX 2018 just got the same issue. Dealer suggested to replace it about $1000CAD.
I doubted this issue was caused by car wash. Therefore I didn't want to replace it. Otherwise it will be broken in winter car wash again.
I just have an idea to stop the mirror folding when car start. I want to try cut the wire off for the folding motor.
Which wire is for the motor? I have no any experience for this mirror. Do you have any circuit diagram or suggestion for me.
The cable harness has total 15 wires.

The orange wires on the corner are the one to cut. I opened the mirror after having a similar issue on mine. The plain orange and the one with the black strip are connected to the rotor.
I recently banged my mirror in a parking garage and now I'm experiencing the exact same issue. The mirror will power fold in and out, but when you go to fold out to normal driving position it hyper extends past normal, to the position in OP's picture. I manually move the mirror to a semi-normal spot, but every startup it automatically moves to that hyperextended position. Anyone come up with fix? I'm sure there is just a little plastic position index jobby that's out of place.
