Hi,
I'm looking at purchasing an used 2017 Acura RDX FWD Tech.

What are the common problems to look for?
Is this price reasonable?
Thanks,

WOW! the prices have gone up. I purchased my 2017 AWD Tech in September 2020 with 40k miles for $25.5k.
If there was another vehicle I wanted, I'd be tempted to trade it in.
Good luck. You have to act fast with the RDX. Clean, one owner with reasonable miles go very quickly.

Bad rear shocks -- one within a month of new purchase! (dealer blamed this on spare tire (I removed the spare to demonstrate THAT wasn't the problem... oops!)
Seal around hatch "rubbed" (no idea if it leaked but made an annoying groan each time the hatch opened or closed).
Rear seat rattles (dealer blames this on license plate frame rattling <rolls eyes> I'm not even bothering to prove otherwise -- like the spare tire incident; instead, when riders notice the noise I tell them "You're hearing Acura quality!")
Window tint (dealer!) is a must, here. Silver trim on vents has them appearing as "ghosts" in the side mirrors.
Battery quit in ~3 years (but, batteries in the desert southwest don't live long!) Warranty replacement died a few years later (ah, but warranty repairs are only guaranteed until the end of the original factory warranty -- so, buy replacement battery from Costco and get a REAL warranty with it!)
AC is dead, already (did I mention we live in the desert southwest??)
GPS is a serious letdown -- use your cell phone, instead!
Test drove the model with the forward-looking safety features (lane monitor, etc.). While sitting in the running demo -- air conditioning essential -- waiting for the salesmen, errors kept getting thrown pertaining to these "features". Salesman shrugged it off as caused by the heat (did I mention we live in the dessert southwest??)
Tech (infotainment) package is incredibly sluggish -- 15+ seconds before it will even recognize a button press!
Doesn't correctly track the current driver (e.g., the radio presets will change to match the driver -- but, the current settings won't!)
Several observed bugs -- radio presets displaying as question marks (permanently), GPS telling me destination is "400 ft ahead, on the left" AND "8 miles away". (I used to take pictures of the screens showing these thinking I'd report them to the dealer/factory -- I gave up)
[I design this sort of stuff for a living so I'm not "imagining things"]
She's been driving Acuras since the mid? 80's -- starting with an Integra. The experience has steadily gotten worse (but she doesn't see many of these issues). We'll start looking for a replacement. We'll pay a courtesy visit to the Acura dealer but I suspect we'll be moving on to another vendor.
Of course, YMMV...
