Unhappy Key insert on driver side damaged by theft attempt

Someone damaged key insert during theft attempt. Key insert is visibly dented (screw driver?) Thankfully they were not successful getting in the vehicle . Dealer says some cars will roll down windows this way! Key fob will still lock and unlock door, but the accompanying beep and light flash has stopped. (Settings are verified and correct) Dealer says the doors are locking but the alarm is not armed!!!
The solution is a re-key of driver side door lock and glovebox and a complete reprogram ... $700.00!!!!! OUCH!!! I checked with locksmiths and met with no success. One guy spent 20 minutes replacing batteries and tinkering with settings and lock only to tell me, "I got nothing"! Another told me flat out they cannot work on Acura's 2016 and above. I'm bummed

The blinking light in the instrument cluster confirms that the vehicle is armed. If, after locking, that does not blink, then the dealer is right.
