Homelink doesn't work anymore

I managed to get the Homelink button to work on my garage opener when I first got my 2014 Acura RDX but now it doesn't seem to work anymore. I've followed this guide https://acurazine.com/forums/audio-b...opener-884170/ for just about 45 times (yes I counted after the 5th time) which took about 3 hours of trying over and over again.

I've changed the batteries on the remote to make sure the signal was strong (yes, the remote was indeed opening the garage door).

I've done these steps with the car both inside and outside the garage, to the left side, right side, and middle of the garage, and with the car in button off mode, accessory on mode, and fully on.

I've held the transmitter at 1-3 inches from the driver's side, passenger side, inbetween, in front and in back of the homelink buttons.

I actually took a timer out to make sure I was doing everything within 30 seconds.

So here are some big problems I've run into:

Pressing the outside 2 buttons of the homelink for 20 full seconds, I first start off with a solid red homelink light, then after about 10 seconds it starts blinking, and by 20 it turns off. When I hold the transmitter next to the homelink button and press both simultaneously it will start off as a solid red, then after about 20 seconds it will pulse on/off per second, then go rapidly blinking. Okay, so I assumed that at this point the rapid blinking must mean it took the code, from this point I go to the garage door opener unit and press the learn button and see the light turn on then go back to my car (always within 10 seconds) and press the homelink button that I just programmed, only to have it blink rapidly and then go back to a solid red even after the learning is off [indicator light for learning blinks showing that it is indeed receiving some kind of signal but it just won't take]. I've tried opening it, programming it, pressing the learn button from all the locations I listed above, but nothing works. I've even gone to erase all the codes off of my garage door opener by holding the learn button for more than 6 seconds, then programmed 1 garage opener and used that as my initial transmission remote (yes, the garage door opener remote took) to make sure I had enough codes left for the car. That didn't work either. I was able to reprogram all my remotes to the garage opener which all worked.

Am I doing something wrong? I've also tried the homelink videos which make it look ridiculously easy (just pressing the remote button and homelink button at the same time, voila hahaha). Anything else I can try? Super frustrated I've spent most of this afternoon trying to get this to work again.

Wow.. I feel your pain.
Let me see if I can help.

First of all, make sure you reset the whole system. Sorry I don't have the instructions with me but what you did seems correct (Press button 1 and 3 for x seconds....).

When you press the button to program your home link, pay attention to the flashing light. As soon as the light turn from steady on to blinking, release the button immediately and move to next step. Press the learn button on the opener and then press the button on the car.

Hopefully it helps and good luck

BTW, what opener do you have?? For overhead doors you have to press the home link button in the car 2times.
