Engine Ticking? 2014 RDX

Hello everyone,

I'm new to this forum and new to Acura's. Just bought a used 2014 RDX tech that came off a lease. Coming from the 2007 Trailblazer SS, I was quite happy with the performance/fuel ratio which is why I purchased!

Anyways, I'm hearing a ticking noise from the engine bay and I have no idea if this is normal or not. When pressing on the gas it speeds up, and even after driving for a half hour or so, it never goes away. When I talked to the Acura service department, they said that it was normal and it was the sound of the direct injection. It seems rather loud for that, but since I don't know these vehicles, I wanted to see your thoughts. I'm sure the dealership used 87 fuel, so once it's close to being gone, I will fill up with 91 and hopefully it goes away. I've attached a link to the youtube video if that is aloud on this forum. Any help to put my mind as ease would be appreciated. Thanks.

All I hear is crickets in the Problem & Fixes section lol. Am I the only one experiencing this issue. can someone at least confirm theirs sounds like this as well?

I have a 2013 and get the same noise when you open the hood. I attribute this to the injectors.

It’s the injectors you’re hearing. PS. The RDX is port injection not direct injection.

I lied, I can not live with the sound. I kept thinking who on earth would make an engine sound this horrible? So today I made a trip to the dealership and got them to compare another 2014 RDX. That RDX was much quieter than mine, so I have it booked in Monday to find out what the issue is. Just thought I'd update this just in case anyone else is having the same issue.

Always 91 premium. Since it's bought used at the dealership, I'm not sure if the prior owner was using premium or not. 71,000 KM on it (44K miles).

Problem is solved. Issue was the valves needing adjustment. Anyone hears the issue above, get them checked!

Did they do it for free? Im not sure the power train warranty would cover that work. If it wasnt free how much was it?

Didn't have to pay a cent! I still have full warranty until November, so maybe that's why?
