Hi,
I have a 2013 RDX and have a problem where the doors auto lock just as soon as I get in the vehicle! I have to fish out the key fob and unlock the doors because 1) the manual unlock won't work(because now the security system is engaged) and 2) If I open the door the security alarm will sound. I have tried replacing the battery in the key fob and that did nothing. I have been putting up with this for quite awhile now and can't seem to find any help!! Anybody know what I need to do? VERY much appreciate any and ALL help!
I don't see anywhere in the manual where the doors would lock automatically after you enter the vehicle and close the door without doing something else, such as shifting out of Park, or surpassing a certain speed.
I have the 2013 RDX Tec-6 cyl. The doors lock even if I have the driver door open. I guess if I can't figure out the cause I will turn the auto lock off as you suggested I just hate to do that because I like that feature : (

Do you think it could have something to do with the central door lock button? I noticed something similar in nature on another thread? I truly appreciate your help!
Possibly. I would try disabling auto lock. If the situation stops, then you know it's that system. If it still happens, then it's a short of some type from one of the manual locking buttons on the doors or the remote. These are all just guesses, but we can narrow down the possibilities before you have to take it in to a real mechanic for real money.
It is probably the little button that signals the interior lights to come on. That button also tells the locking system that you have opened a door. If you unlock a Honda/Acura and never open a door,
it will relock. My last Honda had a bad button on the passenger side. When I would open that side to get something out, it would relock. If that last item in the instructions posted above is set to the shortest time,
it would relook about the time you got into your seat. Make sure your interior lights are set to come on with the door opening and see if they are coming on when you open the driver's door.
