Cargo Cover Does Not Fully Cover

Hi there, did some research on this - couldn't find anyone complaining about it, so maybe my expectations are too unreasonable.

I have a cargo cover for a 2G RDX (2016), but the flap at the end, once fully closed, droops down. If you look through the back window, you can see some of the stuff there.

Is there a way to make the droopy part of the cargo cover straight, so it extends all the way to the trunk door? Coming from an older Rav4, which fully closed the view off, this is a bit odd to me.

Thanks in advance

Droops down

Couldn't get a good angle with the camera, but this is the view through the rear window

tape some rigid sticks to the backside of it to act like a splint

Thanks for the reply, I was hoping i was just using it wrong? Without having to makeshift any parts (to avoid damage), did anyone who has a cargo cover make stay up by inserting it differently, etc?

I find the tint is enough to really see much of anything inside the rear, but yeah, the cargo cover doesn't seal up like my old X3.

Yeah, it seems other suv's don't typically have this issue. So it's not just my cover that has this issue then.

Thanks to you both for your feedback, appreciate it. I'll come up with some kind of temporary string solution that goes to the roof of the car to keep it up, or will try the splint idea if it doesn't tear into the cargo cover somehow.

Chilly731 - Is this an OEM cargo cover? I have an OEM cover in my 2017 RDX Tech. The droopy area pops up a bit so you can't see what's in the cargo area in the back.

What trim is your 2016? It looks like there is a cargo cover for the 2016 Base and another for the Tech and Advance.

I just wonder guys, when you install cargo cover, did you feel any noise reduction coming from the back at all? I switch to RDX from TL and feel that it is a lot noisy. Thanks

What kind of "noise" are you getting? I took my cover out for more cargo space (college aged kids) and it's still very quiet. The only noise I have is the cargo bin in the back shifting around on turns. Oh and the reindeer antlers in the rear windows, but they will come off later today.

Sorry, didn't get notified. Yes OEM. Unfortunately if you get close enough to the rear window, the droop allows for partial view of contents in the back.

No noise reduction - the back part of it droops, so there lots of space for sound to escape through to the rest of the car.
