I just got a '14 RDX w/tech, and I have found that the yellow guides are delayed after the backup camera turns on. Sometimes it is delayed by a couple seconds, and sometimes its 5 seconds or more. I have found that if I wait 10 seconds before putting it in reverse, they show up faster, but its still after half-second or so.

Is this a product of the Nav system booting, or something I need to have checked? We have a 2012 Honda Pilot and the guides are always on, with no delay, so I dont know if this is something I just have to get used to.

Has anyone experienced something similar?

 

I've noticed it too. Weird but not a big deal as far as I'm concerned.

 

I have had the same thing happen. It's always more prominent in the morning or after a long while (i.e. 8-5 workday) or when it's freezing. I just thought it was a normal thing.

 

Same here. But since the camera is working instantaneously, I start to back up. By the time I give the screen a second look after looking around the car, the guides are there. Not a biggie for me.

 

I seem to recall that in the early days of backup cameras, the Acuras had a delay of ~8 seconds or so before the image even came on the screen! Pretty sure the car mags were all over it. Be glad you don't have to deal with that.

I'm sure there are Acura owners on here that can clarify that. If I have it wrong, please add a correction.
