Backup camera takes on water when it rains

Anyone else experiencing water infiltration on their backup cams?

Got a quote from dealer, $440 to replace the whole camera unit. Uggh.

Has anyone tried replacing the backup camera?

I know what you mean, OP. The camera is not very good on rainy days, that's for sure. I usually don't get a clear view for a day after, until I have left my car sitting out of the rain or with sun exposure to dry it out. I've wiped it off with a towel to dry it, but it holds moisture for quite a while.

Mine is always foggy esp. around the bottom and sides, clear only right in the middle, no matter if its been wet or dry weather, or if I clean the lens. On only one occasion have I ever seen it clear.

Had same issue when I took it to the dealer and they washed it, it is covered under warranty, they made them defective and the dealer knows about it.
