Was the used RDX I just purchased in an accident?

I just took possession of a '13 RDX with a clean accident-free record as far as CarProof is concerned. The car drives fine but I just noticed that the front impact absorbing styrofoam piece is not attached to anything and is laying at the bottom of the bumper. That's not the worst part however. The Metallic beam in front of the radiator has an odd curvature INWARDS. That's what really alarmed me. The bend is very smooth and right in the middle. I have no idea if that's by design since I couldn't find any videos or photos online, nor do I have the repair manual. Can anybody peak into theirs and let me know? I had to remove the top trim pieces to see it well. Photo below

bent front beam?

Where'd you buy it from. Did you do a pre purchase inspection prior to purchase

Damnit. Whoever made the repair must have cheaped out on it and just replaced the bumper and whatever else was absolutely necessary. It's an aluminum piece and I read that it shouldn't be repaired if damaged (replaced if anything). I'm hoping they were just lazy replacing it and that nothing else was affected. I'm gonna have it looked at by my own mechanic

After some stress, threats, and arguments, I managed to get the dealer to pay for the repair. Good as new:

Congrats on getting the dealer to step up and repair. I'm actually surprised they did. How long did you have the RDX before going back to them regarding this?

the GOOD news is; that is a 5MPH bumper! crashes 5mph and under will be absorbed by that beam.
Anything ABOVE 5MPH and the beam doesnt come into play.

if you cant find any other evidence of a crash, i'm betting it was involved in a small minor bumper collision.
small and minor enough to not report it to insurance. maybe just replace plastic bumper covers and that was it for repairs

NBP04TL4ME, I bought the car from a used car dealer, not Acura. The car had passed a mandatory "Safety Standards Test" and this wasn't noticed, whether that's true or not, I didn't care. I noticed it and I wanted them to take responsibility. I only had the car for a week and it was within the dealer's 30-day 'Bumper to Bumper' warranty. Ironically, the bumper was the issue here.

justnspace, I'm pretty sure that's what had happened. There was no other damage to anything beside or behind the beam. I had the car looked at more thoroughly. It was 100% fixed privately at some point in the past and they cheaped out on the beam.
