Air filter and Cabin filter change

I have owned My RDX for one year and I was looking for a new air filter.I came across this combo on ebay. AIR FILTER CABIN FILTER COMBO FOR 2013 2014-2017 ACURA RDX - 3.5L MODEL ONLY | eBay
So I figured "What can I lose ,but $26.00". I was very surprised to find these parts to be almost identical to the Acura parts.
I was also stunned to see how black the cabin filter was!
If you want to save some bucks, try these. If bucks don't matter ,let Acura do it.

How many miles on the old filters? I've got about 15k on mine. The engine air filter looks clean, but can't see the cabin air filter without pulling it. Just wondering what kind of shape I can expect it to be in.

are you looking at the engine filter just by opening it? it sucks air from the bottom. so when you open the cover, you see the inside portion going to the engine.

pull the filter out. its going to be dirty from the underside.

I pulled the engine air filter completely out. It's pretty clean. Have not gone to the bother of pulling the cabin air filter out yet.

22000 miles and I removed the engine filter and it wasn't even close to being dirty enough to change. The cabin filter had some debris on it but a good shake cleaned it up. Bought filters online for cheap money and will change both out in a few more thousand miles.

The cabin filter looks dirty because it has charcoal in it. A brand new one looks grey. But it is cheap and easy to do, so might as well do it every couple years. Definitely a DIY.

I get mine from NAPA. Better deal the Acura Service Dept.
