Hello my friends,
I crossing over to this Acurazine threads from the TL section. A very good friend of mine is about to purchase a 2014 RDX. Can anyone advise on what to look for in terms of common issues and what to expect ? The car has 96,000 mms. What are some good questions to ask the salesman?

I think an important thing to know is if it has had the timing belt replacement and related maintenance. With the VIN, I was able to see that the '14 I bought in August had had it done, but that won't show if it wasn't done by a dealer. My car had 116,000 miles on it, and so far I am very pleased.

I would want to know as much as possible about the maintenance that has been done, and I would make a detailed list of anything that doesn't work or isn't satisfactory. I have found that these cars are nearly as bulletproof as the Hondas I have owned for the last 30 years, if properly maintained; there is no need to be overly frightened about the number of miles.

More specific questions would be based on inspections and observations -- e.g. does it pull to one side? Are there records of fuel mileage (often a good indicator of extant problems)? Finally, I would peruse these threads (2nd Gen RDX) carefully. There is a lot of information to be gleaned with some research. Good luck!

Look for transmission fluid change history. (there is also a software update for said trans) I would want to see a Carfax at least.
