2017 RDX engine oil dipstick
2017 RDX engine oil dipstick
I've searched this website and online otherwise, I can't find the answer to the following question. What volume of oil is represented by the cross hatched area of the engine oil dipstick?
I checked the oil the morning after a dealership oil change, it registered about 1/4 of the way up into the cross hatched area. I added about .65 qt. and the level on the dipstick is now above the cross hatched area. The letters RCA show above the full level, after adding the oil the level is at the top of the C. I've mostly driven GM vehicles in the past, I believe 1 qt was the volume represented by the cross hatched section on all of them. Seems not to be the case for my RDX.
The correct level is at the top of the cross hatch. People always...always check the level before even starting your vehicle when a stranger changes changes your oil.
If you paid sopmeone a fortune for an oil change you'd expect it filled.
