My wife has just gotten a 2015 RDX with Tech and misses the compass display in the rear view mirror she has had in other cars. I believe there are aftermarket mirrors from Gentex and Cipa which may work but does anyone have experience with swapping a mirror from a current Honda or Acura product which had this feature?

 

Why would you need that? She has a navi. It's on the screen.

 

To call the red needle which points north located in the upper left hand corner of the nav screen a compass is being kind. If you have your nav set up to always have your direction going up it spins around and she prefers the N S E W display in a mirror as many other cars have and after 43 years of marriage I know which battles to fight and which not to. And lastly if you have nothing constructive to add why bother posting?

 

Gentex is only replacement I would trust. Have added them to several cars previously and they operate flawlessly. Not a cheap solution, but I'm sure it would cost a lot less than a divorce!

I installed this mirror accessory on my 07 RDX myself. On the outside it looks exactly the same as my 13 RDX except the new ones don't have the digital compass. I have a strong feeling it will fit the new RDX.

 

Scooter1, I totally agree with your wife. Where the heck is the compass?? After driving for 50 years, I want to look at a little device and see which direction I am going, not have to fool with the nav system - either you have to look at the true north and translate where you are or figure out what direction the little red arrow is pointing. It's a total pain...

So, did you install a new mirror or did anyone and what do you suggest? I read the one response but wondering scooter1, if you got that mirror.
