Hi,

Is there any way to force the nav system to make a
large change in the route to a destination.

For example:

I need to start near Lexington Ky and go to Pensacola.
The nav system wants to send me via Knoxville TN to Birmingham AL.

I want to go via Bowling Green Ky to Nashville TN to Birmingham AL.
This route is a lot less congested but just a little further.

With my Garmin Base Camp App I could plan a route and download
it to the Garmin.

I doubt if you can do with the built in Navi....this is basic navi and I guess all car Navi are like this.

 

Can you add in a waypoint or two so it forces a route from where you start to some waypoint you define that takes you on the route you want?

 

you can try the detour function on the navi.

if that doesn't work then just drive the way you know and then it'll re route accordingly.

i find the navi in my MDX to be a little more "stupid" than the one in my older TL.

 

Just use the Garmin. The RDX Nav is just awful. Acura should hire a few Garmin engineers to design a useful nav system.
