Display Chinese Song Titles?

Hi Everyone,
First time Acura owner, day 3 of our new RDX Tech Package and loving it! I was wondering, since we have some Chinese mp3s that I'm planning on playing through usb port, whether it's possible to display the song titles in Chinese on the screen? It seems like a matter of loading the font class, but of course, we don't access to that!

I'd really appreciate it if anyone can help!

Have you tried it yet? What shows up on the display?

I've tried with bluetooth audio and the English song titles, artists, and albums come out great. But the Chinese part comes out as dots (. . .).

I haven't been able to try with USB, I've tried to insert with 7GB of music on a 16GB SD card with USB reader, formated to FAT32, and it kept telling me unsupported. Can anyone give me any pointers on this?

I have to say, I'm a little disappointed in Acura with this. For a 40k car, I expect this to be smoother and support more functionality. The Ford Explorer I rented last month had Chinese build when I plugged my iPod into it!

That combination may actually be unsupported. There are some other threads about USB flash drive issues but I don't think anyone wrote in about using an SD card with a USB reader. I'm using a flash drive with no problems.

For anyone interested, the USB storage (either USB Stick or SD Card) must be fully formated with FAT32 with default allocation. My mistake was using Quick Format instead of fully formatting.

Uncheck the "Quick Format" checkbox when formatting the USB storage, and it'll work!

Now..... how to display those Chinese characters....

wrote and called Acura customer care, as well as talked to service department at the dealer. Acuras only support English Spanish and French.

This is really silly, since these cars sells in China, and a majority of the customer base are Asian. Is it really too much to ask for multi-language support in 2013?

Note: I rented a Ford Explorer a few month back, and that car displayed Chinese song titles perfectly

I'm having the same issue. It is very annoying. Acura is running a big campaign in China on RDX, but I think the system on the Chinese version RDX is a little different.

I have the same problem with Turkish letters. It just looks bad on the screen with missing letters.

Maybe we should load "Rosetta Stone" on the hard disc drive (just kidding).

we should all complain to the dealers. I have the exact same problem. Hopefully they can solve this.

Even My gf's civic can display chinese song titles perfectly.

Big fail for Acura.

Sorry to bump such an old thread, but does anyone know if the newer MDX/RDX models support Asian characters on their display?

New models with 2 LCD displays will support the display of Chinese & Japanese characters. Unfortunately I did not check to see if it will support Korean characters.

Best to test the sound system during your test drive. Put some MP3s onto a USB stick and try it out.

That's quite the bummer. What source did you use? USB, Bluetooth, etc..?

USB, tried iPod as well. The Chinese characters were also Traditional; I'm not sure if it supports Simplified.
