Bluetooth and iTunes iPhone 5

Here is my issue. I use bluetooth to make and receive calls on RDX (Tech package) and really like it. However when I plug my iPhone 5 and navigate using the iTunes music interface on the RDX it does not play on that input, I am forced to click the input button again and go to bluetooth audio to hear the music.

I like the interface for iTunes on the dash better because I can go through my audio files. When using bluetooth audio I am forced to press next or previous on the RDX but can not quickly get the song or playlist I want. Anyone have a work around? Ideally I can setup system to play audio only via hardwire and still get calls via bluetooth.

Workaround: plug in your cable AFTER your Bluetooth connection establishes. iPhone audio will play off the last established audio connection, but calls will still go off your Bluetooth. However, this is speculation, as I do not own an iPhone myself.

I'm confused as to what the problem is. I have the 2013 RDX Tech and the iPhone 5.

My routine is: I always just leave the RDX stereo input on the USB input. I then get in and plug my phone into the USB. My phone connects to bluetooth for calls and plays Pandora through the USB port.

Are you saying that your phone won't play music through the USB port?
