Any audio system changes in the new 2016 RDX Tech Package?
Does anyone know if there are any audio system changes scheduled for the higher-end Tech Pkg. audio system, the Scheiner system, in the new 2016 refreshed RDX?
The present HDD is pretty small at 15 gigs. Does anyone know if it stores CD files (.cda files) directly (unchanged) or does it compress them?
Will it be or is it now possible to play .WAV files from a flash drive through the USB port?
Thanks. All answers appreciated.

multichannel audio?
I also would like to know if the new 2016 rdx still supports multichannel dts cds and dvd audio discs. The best thing about the prior rdx since 2013 was the fact that it had an awesome sounding surround sound system, assuming you fed it one of those types of discs. Usb and hard disc didn't support multichannel surround sound.

I still have to get this confirmed, but to my understanding, Acura has removed DVD-Audio playback when they moved to ELS Studio Surround system, the one with dual screen. MDX lost DVD-Audio playback in its 3rd generation, over 3 years ago, and I believe new RDX followed the same path with switch to dual screen which comes with a new audio interface in redesigned 2016 model. It should play DTS-CDs, though, just as 2013-2016 MDX. I can positively confirm that 2013-2016 MDX plays DTS-CDs and does not play DVD-A.
I complained to Acura customer relationships about their decision regarding DVD-A, but they of course dismissed it. I can understand it, to some extent, as DVD-A are specialty items which are hard to get unless you know where to find them. I think for them it is an issue of cost because one has to have a player with laser with wavelength suitable for DVDs plus they have to take care of licensing issues associated with DVD-Audio playback. I would gladly pay for an upgraded audio version with DVD-A in my future car if it was offered, but currently it is not offered.

I confirm the the ELS system in the 2016 RDX does not play DVD audio discs. It does play DTS-CDs and you can use the software DVD audio Extractor (DVD Audio Extractor -- Full featured DVD audio ripper for your easy use) to convert DVD-Audio disks to DTS-CDs. You can try it for 30 days with no limitations.
The DTS-CDs sound very good, but I cannot compare to the DVD-Audio disks in the previous RDX.
I just wish you could copy these disks on the HDD. For me, the 16 Gb HDD is useless as it only copies Red Book Audio CDs (commercial CDs or burned audio CDs, not MP3, WAV or other formats)
