So my salesman mentioned that when you put a CD in, you could see the album cover on the screen. (I have the 2013 AWD model w/tech.) It was in passing and in no way caused us to buy it. We had already test driven the car and I had gone there to buy it already when he said this. But I don't see any album covers. Was this bogus or is there a setting for this?

On my base model I've only run into album art when playing from my ipod. I don't think CDs will do that but I could be wrong.

 

Maybe he was referring to mp3 data files burned to cd-r?

 

I believe album art is only displayed for iPod connection through USB.

 

It wouldn't work on a CD as the jpg required would not be stored on the disk. It does work with iPods though. The jpg is stored in the iTunes database.

 

FWIW, mp3 files can have embedded cover art. My mp3 files have the embedded art yet the covers do not display (using a USB thumb drive). Base stereo, not Tech. Sigh.

 

I agree with mikejmac. The Nav manual only shows what looks like cover art under the iPod section.
